Buenas Noticias para el Grupo de Palentologia! / Good News for the Palaeontology Group!

During the first days of the Field Camp we found an extraordinary locality with fossil fruits and seeds (permineralized). The estimated age (based on fossil mollusks) is Early Miocene, which differs with respect to othe plant fossil localities described from other sites of the Peninsula which were Eocene in age. These fossils are associated with sedimentary rocks (conglomerates) apparently from a fluvial or shallow marine environment.

We also found fossils of sharks, manatee (dugong), tortoise, molluscs, sea urchins, Trace fossils, Fish Scales and tooth and Crustaceans!
